Grown inside a computer, Metavert is a conceptual art project exploring the power of AI to generate hypothetical reproductions of flowers. Sowvital, in collaboration with artist Marco Violet-Vianello, brings to its community a plant lovers a groundbreaking collection of digital botanical artworks.
Metavert helps grow oak trees in the Erbil Hills
The Hasar Organisation is challenging rapidly-increasing desertification by planting over 280,000 trees. Sowvital is directly involved with the reforestation initiative, as every digital collectible from this project sold will equate to four planted trees.
About the artist
Marco Violet-Vianello is an artist and software engineer based in London. He uses artificial intelligence to explore the relationship between the digital, natural and human mind. The visuals that emerge are formed via data collation, algorithms and encoded reproduction, offering Marco’s work as a study of the potentials of creativity within machine learning.
Throughout his work Marco poses the question ‘Who is the artist? Is it me or is it the AI?’
